The 430 Scuderia is lightweight, simple, and striking with a distinctive engine and exhaust sound. Every last detail of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia exudes uncompromising sportiness, born of its close links to the world of racing, a world reflected in its very name. Seven Time F1 World Champion, Michael Schumacher, was also involved in the car's development. The 430 Scuderia has a number of upgrades over the standard F430 which include, 20 more horsepower, and slightly more torque, its F1 gearbox has been reprogrammed to deliver shifts in just 65 milliseconds(down from 165 milliseconds), and curb weight is down by some 220 pounds landing at just 2,975 pounds thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber. The Scuderia can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds (nearly a half-second improvement over the standard F430), 0 to 100 mph takes just 7.8 seconds, and its quarter-mile time is 11.4 seconds at 123mph. It peaks at a top speed of 198 mph. Lateral acceleration and even the engine note has improved as well thanks to a revised intake manifold, a more free-flowing exhaust, and a slightly higher compression ratio. There is a new setting offered on the 430 Scuderia's Manettino switch located on the steering wheel. The ice mode has been replaced with a new mode that allows the driver to turn off the traction control completely. Even with the traction control off, stability control is still available. This setup ensures fast lap times and helps make the driving experience much more rewarding. The 430 Scuderia is a car that was built for the racetrack. Thanks to its adjustable suspension though, it can be enjoyed on public roads without giving a punishing ride that often goes hand in hand with a track-oriented vehicle. Exterior changes were made primarily to improve aerodynamic efficiency and total performance of the car. The most noticeable differences to the exterior are the new front intake vents found on the front bumper that are considerably larger, a completely redesigned rear diffuser, a more prominent rear spoiler, and lastly, the exhaust pipes are now housed higher in the rear bumper, modeled on the version used in the Ferrari Challenge races with the successful F430 Challenge race car. The 430 Scuderia is truly a special vehicle. Even though it was introduced over ten years ago its performance numbers are still considered very quick today. In recent years the 430 Scuderia has seen an increase in demand as more and more auto enthusiasts are finding out just how special it is to drive.
